About Me

My friends call me Ramona or Mona. Ramona Mona. Or even just Mo.

So, how did a woman named Ramona Mona end up making puzzle books?

It probably started with my mom.

When I was growing up, my mother never went anywhere without her puzzle book. She had a homemade clipboard. And a pen. And a puzzle book.

That was it. She was ready to solve.

My mom did her puzzles in ink. I never saw her use a pencil, and I rarely saw her cross anything out. She was a puzzle genius. Her favorites were cryptograms and logic grids.

Curiosity and fun are contagious, and I really did “catch” my love of puzzles from those childhood adventures with Mom.

My favorites these days are Kriss Kross and Sudoku. I also enjoy logic-grid puzzles, although some of those can get seriously challenging.

I don't remember seeing Sudoku in my mom's puzzle books. I don't think she ever encountered one. She would have loved them, though!

A Few Detours Along the Way

As I grew up and pursued a career, puzzles wandered in and out of my life.

For most of my adult life, I made my living in Southern California as a printer, technical writer, labeling specialist, and programmer. Then, in 2011, I sold my stuff, hit the road, and started traveling around the world.

I made it to more than 100 countries and all 50 states.

The highlight of all my travels, and actually my whole life... was Tiger Kingdom in Thailand. Take a look at my favorite thing I've ever done. No photoshop needed. This is really me. With real Tigers!

These days, my travels have slowed down a bit, and I've put down some roots in rural Missouri, where I do consulting work as a technical writer and documentation specialist.

And somewhere along the way, I found my way back to puzzles.

Now I write puzzle books.

It's funny how some things from childhood never really leave us. They just wait patiently until we're ready to rediscover them.

I'm very happy to have rediscovered puzzles.

And I'm happy you're here.

If you try one of my puzzle books, I hope you enjoy it. And if you enjoy it enough to leave an honest review, I'll be tremendously grateful. I'm an independent author and publisher, and every review helps my little puzzle business find its way to another puzzle lover.

But mostly, I hope you have fun.

That's what Mom taught me about puzzles in the first place.

I am so glad you visited today!

Please reach out! I would love to hear from you.
